Car boot sale and fishing equipment swap meet at the Saint-Léon-sur-l'Isle bowling alley, organized by the AAPPMA
Saint-Léon-sur-l'Isle, a village crossed by the river Isle, hosts an original event twice a year that combines a car boot sale and a fishing equipment swap meet. Organized by the AAPPMA of Saint-Léon-sur-l'Isle at the village bowling alley, route de la Gare, this event attracts both bargain hunters and fishing enthusiasts from all over the department.
The originality of this event lies in its fishing equipment swap meet: used rods, reels, lures, nets, and accessories are offered at attractive prices. Fishing technique demonstrations are also organized: carp fishing, pike fishing, fly fishing, coarse fishing, catfish fishing, and lure fishing from boats. Experienced anglers share their know-how with novices in a friendly atmosphere.
Alongside the fishing swap meet, the classic car boot sale hosts between 100 and 200 exhibitors, individuals and professionals, offering second-hand items, clothing, toys, books, and trinkets. The bowling alley offers a pleasant outdoor space with nearby parking. Refreshments and food on-site complete the offering, with free coffee in the morning.
Located on the banks of the Isle, a tributary of the Dordogne, Saint-Léon-sur-l'Isle is a village that lives to the rhythm of its river. The local AAPPMA works for the protection of the aquatic environment and fishing initiation. This flea market-fishing event is one of the association's flagship events, helping to keep the passion for angling alive in Périgord.
