In the exceptional setting of Quai Carnot, opposite Concarneau's Ville Close, the Criée parking lot transforms every spring into a large car boot sale area. About a hundred private sellers set up their stalls to offer, in a maritime and festive atmosphere, clothes, toys, books, crockery, decorative items, tools, and all sorts of finds from their attics.

This car boot sale benefits from an incomparable setting: between the fishing port of Concarneau, one of the leading tuna ports in Europe, and the medieval ramparts of the Ville Close which are reflected in the port waters. Visitors can thus combine bargain hunting with the discovery or rediscovery of this major tourist site in southern Finistère.

Concarneau, the Ville Close and the sea

Concarneau (29900) is a town of about 20,000 inhabitants, known worldwide for its Ville Close, a fortified medieval town built on an islet connected to the city by two footbridges. This former stronghold, whose ramparts mainly date from the 14th–15th centuries and were reinforced by Vauban in the 17th century, is one of the most visited sites in Brittany.

The Criée de Concarneau is a local institution: the leading wholesale fish market in Brittany, it is the beating heart of the fishing port. The adjacent parking lot, Quai Carnot, is an ideal space for a car boot sale, due to its size and central location opposite the Ville Close.
