Avanton APE's big vide-grenier

Avanton's Parents-Teachers Association (APE) runs its big annual vide-grenier, a major Haut-Poitou rendezvous drawing collectors from Poitiers, Neuville-de-Poitou, Mirebeau and around. 2026: Sunday 31 May, 7:30am-6pm, village centre. 170 exhibitors — a remarkable figure making this one of the canton's largest.

Attendance reflects APE Avanton's dynamism; profits fund the village school: trips, teaching materials, teachers' projects. A chining day and a concrete gesture for local children's schooling.

A well-oiled format

Exhibitors from 6:30am, public 7:30am. €2/linear metre (conditions for vehicles). Advance registration mandatory, slots limited despite high numbers. Deadline usually one week before.

Kids activities (rides, workshops, snacks) add family dimension. Bar and barbecue by volunteer parents serve grilled food, cold drinks, crêpes, homemade cakes.

Avanton, Haut-Poitou village

Haut-Poitou commune, 15 minutes northwest of Poitiers, Grand Poitiers Urban Community. About 2,000 inhabitants, in Neuvillois, heart of Haut-Poitou AOC vineyard. Sought-after location — hence APE dynamism and event turnout.

Haut-Poitou cellars at Neuville-de-Poitou for tasting, Poitiers with Notre-Dame-la-Grande and Saint-Jean baptistery, Futuroscope at Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, Sanxay Gallo-Roman site. Region full of discoveries.

Tips
