The great summer event of the highest village in Var
Every year at the heart of summer, Bargème celebrates its Saint-Laurent patronal feast with an iconic flea market that draws bargain hunters and visitors from across Provence. In this Most Beautiful Village of France perched at 1094 meters, Saint-Laurent combines tradition, conviviality and medieval atmosphere for a timeless day.
The Saint-Laurent patronal feast is the most anticipated event of the year in Bargème. Organized around August 10 by the local festival committee, it brings together residents, summer visitors and tourists for several days of celebrations. The flea market is the main daytime highlight, turning the perched village into a vast open-air hunting ground.
At 1094 meters, Bargème is the highest village in Var and one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Its cobbled streets, stone houses, vaulted passages and the ruins of the Pontevès feudal castle create an utterly unique backdrop for a flea market.
Family bric-à-brac, antique Provençal furniture, dishware, household linen, vintage toys, books, vinyl records and trinkets. Local Haut-Var producers also bring honey, jam, olive oil, lavender and artisan soaps.
The annual Saint-Laurent flea market will take place on Saturday August 8, 2026 in Bargème. An iconic summer event in this Most Beautiful Village of France, it marks the patronal feast of the highest village in Var.
From Comps-sur-Artuby via D21. Pedestrian village, parking at the entrance. 50 minutes from Draguignan.
Generally 8am to 6pm on Saint-Laurent day or nearest weekend.
