Vaulx-Village neighbourhood car boot sale organised by the Village Festival Committee, in Vaulx-en-Velin
In spring 2026, the Vaulx-Village Festival Committee organises its traditional Vide du Village (Village Car Boot Sale) in the historic Vaulx-en-Velin neighbourhood. This convivial and family-friendly event brings together neighbourhood residents for a day of car boot sale and celebration, in the spirit of the original village of Vaulx, preserved within the modern commune.
The Vide du Village of the Vaulx-Village Festival Committee is an annual event that perpetuates the festive tradition of the historic Vaulx-Village district — the historical heart of Vaulx-en-Velin. Every spring, the Festival Committee mobilises neighbourhood residents for a day of car boot sales and conviviality: clothing, toys, books, crockery, ornaments and decorative objects are traded on the pavements and squares of the village.
Vaulx-en-Velin is a commune in the Lyon metropolitan area, east of Lyon. Although well known as a new town of the 1970s-80s, it preserves a historic village core — Vaulx-Village — that has maintained its rural and picturesque character amid the intensive urbanisation of past decades.
