The great second-hand clothing fair at La Halle
Twice a year, La Halle in Mazamet turns into a vast covered dressing room. The Mazamet vide-dressing brings together private sellers and lovers of second-hand fashion for a day dedicated to clothing, accessories and shoes at small prices. In this Mazamet heritage landmark at the foot of the Montagne Noire, textile bargain-hunting takes on an urban festival air, with music and food on site.
The Mazamet vide-dressing has become one of the most appreciated second-hand events in southern Tarn. Held at La Halle, the emblematic downtown building that hosts many cultural and festive events, it gathers several dozens of private sellers each time. The vide-dressing principle is simple: only clothes, accessories and shoes, making it a paradise for small-price fashion lovers.
Women's, men's, children's clothing: jumpers, dresses, skirts, trousers, shirts, jackets, coats, swimwear, evening wear, jeans. Accessories: scarves, belts, handbags, shawls, costume jewellery, sunglasses, hats. Shoes: trainers, pumps, boots, sandals, sports shoes. Brands mix with unbranded items, new tagged items sit next to vintage finds. Each seller sets prices, polite negotiation is welcome.
La Halle in Mazamet is an emblematic building, restored to host shows, concerts, fairs and popular events. Its structure, volumes and central location make it ideal: shelter in bad weather, wide spaces to wander, good light. The atmosphere is always friendly, often musically livened up, with snacks and a bar.
Mazamet (around 10,000 residents) is one of the main towns of southern Tarn, at the foot of the Montagne Noire and at the entrance of the Haut-Languedoc natural park. Historic capital of délainage (wool treatment), the town preserves fine industrialists' mansions and is reinvigorating around culture, sport and green tourism.
