Solidarity sale of books, clothes, toys and flea market items in Concarneau, in March and May
Several times a year, including in March and May, an association from Concarneau organizes solidarity sales of books, clothes, toys, flea market items, and furniture in the Zone du Moros in Concarneau. These events, sometimes referred to as exceptional destocking, allow for the acquisition of second-hand items at very modest prices, while supporting local social aid and mutual aid initiatives.
Unlike large car boot sales that bring together dozens of exhibitors, these solidarity sales operate in a more intimate way, with a single exhibitor offering a large and varied stock. The principle is destocking: a significant quantity of collected items—through donations, collection, or redistribution—is put on sale for a dedicated day, in a suitable space within the Moros commercial and industrial zone.
The categories of items offered are broad:
The Zone du Moros is one of Concarneau's main commercial and artisanal activity zones. It hosts shops, workshops, and warehouses, and is easily accessible by car from different parts of the city and surrounding towns. It's a practical setting for sales events that require comfortable storage and circulation space.
Concarneau—a city of the Ville Close and artisanal fishing—has a dense and committed network of associations. Organizations like Konkern Solidarité and other local associations regularly organize collection and redistribution initiatives that contribute to the social cohesion of the territory. These solidarity sales of books, clothes, and toys are part of this dynamic of local solidarity deeply rooted in Breton culture.
