A children-only garage sale

« Vide ta chambre » (empty your room) events are themed garage sales where every seller offers only children's items: clothes, toys, gear, books, baby supplies. The APE Ermitage et Bois d'Amour (parents association) runs its own in Saint-Benoît, a residential commune of the Poitiers metro, on Sunday 26 April 2026 from 9am to 6pm.

Why a kids' sale?

Children grow fast. Clothes, toys, baby gear become obsolete before they wear out. Rather than discard or stash them, « Vide ta chambre » lets kids themselves (with parents) sell what they no longer use and hunt for new finds at low prices. Educational (mindful consumption, value), economical and friendly.

Saint-Benoît, Grand Poitiers commune

Saint-Benoît is a southern-Poitiers-metro commune, around 7,000 inhabitants, noted for its green setting and medieval Benedictine abbey (Saint-Pierre abbey church). Ermitage and Bois d'Amour are residential, family districts with schools whose APE runs regular solidarity events. 5 minutes from Poitiers centre.

A community-driven event

Proceeds (spots, refreshments, food) fund APE projects for pupils: outings, school trips, educational material, fairs. A thrifting event with a concrete, local cause — the commune's children.

Mandatory via online form (framaforms.org) before 7 April 2026. Private sellers only (no pros), true to the « vide ta chambre » spirit. Fixed per-metre rate.
