Terramar - From the Earth to the Sea is a spring fair organized annually by the Port-de-Bouc Tourist Office on Cours Landrivon, opposite the Town Hall. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors discover a vast plant market, artisanal creations, natural and local products, as well as maritime activities with visits to historic boats and the SNSM lifeboat. Entry is free. Boat trips, pony rides for children, workshops, and gardening advice from the town's environmental service complete the program for this festive and family-friendly day.
Terramar - From the Earth to the Sea is a spring event that highlights the dual identity of Port-de-Bouc, a town located at the mouth of the Caronte channel, between the Gulf of Fos and the Étang de Berre. Every year, on the last Sunday of March, the Cours Landrivon transforms into a large open-air market where the worlds of land and sea meet. Organized by the Port-de-Bouc Tourist Office, Terramar brings together dozens of professional exhibitors: horticulturists, nursery owners, art craftsmen, and local producers who offer the best of their know-how.
The plant market is the heart of Terramar. Visitors will find a wide variety of plants: Mediterranean plants, aromatic herbs, perennials, cacti, shrubs, roses, and vegetable plants. Nursery owners from the region provide personalized gardening advice, supplemented by a stand from the Town of Port-de-Bouc's environmental service. In terms of crafts, creators exhibit jewelry, ceramics, decorative objects, handmade soaps, and original creations. Food lovers can discover producers offering cured meats, cheeses, wines, honeys, confectionery, and other products from the Provençal region.
Terramar is distinguished by its maritime dimension, reflecting the city's port history. Historic boats are exhibited at the port, and the SNSM (Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer) lifeboat is open for visits. A blessing of the sea is organized with wreath-laying ceremonies, in the presence of fishermen, maritime professionals, and boaters from the Société Nautique. Free boat trips are offered to the public, and the fire department's boat provides a nautical show. For children, pony rides, games, and workshops liven up the entire day.
Port-de-Bouc (13110) is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department located on the peninsula that closes the Gulf of Fos, at the mouth of the Caronte channel connecting the Mediterranean to the Étang de Berre. Established as a commune on June 13, 1866, distinct from Fos-sur-Mer and Martigues, the town was built around its maritime and industrial activities: cod drying, shipyards of Chantiers et Ateliers de Provence (CAP), refineries, and chemical industries. The Fort de Bouc, a strategic fortress visited by Bonaparte in 1794, overlooks the entrance to the channel. Today, Port-de-Bouc preserves a living maritime heritage, symbolized by the concrete boat "Le Provence" which stands in the town center and the emblematic 19th-century wooden bascule bridge. Each spring, Terramar celebrates this unique identity, between land traditions and maritime heritage.
