Every August, Les Sables-d'Olonne downtown merchants bring their stalls out onto the pedestrian streets. Organised by UCSO, the summer sale offers two days of exceptional deals in peak tourist season. Rue de l'Hôtel de Ville, Travot and Halles turn into a huge open-air commercial sale, 10am to 7pm.
The summer merchants' sale in Les Sables-d'Olonne
A highlight of the tourist season, organised by UCSO. Each late August, downtown shops set out their racks, tables and bargain bins on the pedestrian streets for two intense open-air shopping days.
The event spans the main historic-center streets. The mood is cheerful, musical, with lively footfall of residents and holidaymakers enjoying the last days of summer.
