26th edition of the Sou des Écoles brocante in Jarnioux, a village in the Pays des Pierres Dorées in Beaujolais
The Sou des Écoles brocante in Jarnioux is a much-anticipated event for the inhabitants of the village and surrounding Beaujolais communes. Since its first edition in 2001, this annual event has been organized by volunteers from the Sou des Écoles, a school support association that mobilizes parents and supporters to run this second-hand market. Antiques, jumble, curios and collectables come together during this convivial Sunday event. The 26th edition takes place on Sunday, May 31, 2026 and promises once again to be a wonderful occasion for discovery and conviviality.
Jarnioux is a village of around 1,200 inhabitants nestled in the Pays des Pierres Dorées, a territory in northern Rhône that takes its name from the warm, ochre tones of its limestone buildings. Located between Villefranche-sur-Saône and l'Arbresle, Jarnioux is dominated by its imposing 14th-century medieval castle, one of the best preserved in Beaujolais, surrounded by vineyards and green hills. This exceptional setting, combined with the authentic charm of the village and the gentle Beaujolais lifestyle, makes it an ideal place for an outdoor brocante day.
Jarnioux is accessible via the D504 from Villefranche-sur-Saône (about 10 km) or via the D30 from l'Arbresle. Parking available on the outskirts of the village.
