Every April, the Boulodrome du Vigneau, Boulevard Salvador Allende in Saint-Herblain, hosts the Spring Car Boot Sale organized by the Soaketsa association. This community event stands out for its solidarity aspect: all profits generated are donated to education projects in Madagascar. Bargain hunting here also means contributing to the future of Malagasy youth.
The Soaketsa association, whose name means "together" in Malagasy, has been working for several years to develop education in Madagascar. Its actions focus on financing school construction, purchasing educational materials, training teachers, and supporting the schooling of children in disadvantaged regions of the island. The spring car boot sale is one of its main sources of funding, mobilizing volunteers from Saint-Herblain and supporters around a shared cause.
The Boulodrome du Vigneau, located on Boulevard Salvador Allende, offers a spacious and shaded outdoor area, ideal for a spring car boot sale. The alleys of the bowling alley and its surroundings host the exhibitors' stalls in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Its location in the heart of Saint-Herblain makes it easily accessible for residents of the town and the greater Nantes area.
Pitches are offered at a price of €12 for 6x5m, which is 30 square meters of exhibition space. This large format allows exhibitors to present a significant quantity of items and set up their stalls comfortably. The proceeds from registrations directly contribute to the financing of Soaketsa's Malagasy projects. Individuals, whether residents of Saint-Herblain or neighboring towns, can register with the association.
The Soaketsa Car Boot Sale is part of the fine tradition of community events with a humanitarian purpose that mark the calendar of the Nantes metropolitan area. By making bargain hunting an act of generosity, Soaketsa successfully mobilizes a wide audience, sensitive to both the pleasure of good deals and the commitment to solidarity. Lasting human relationships have been forged over the editions between the volunteers from Saint-Herblain and the Malagasy communities they support.
The Soaketsa Spring Car Boot Sale returns in April 2026 at the Boulodrome du Vigneau, Saint-Herblain. €12/6x5m. Profits for education in Madagascar.
