In early September, as the summer car boot sale season draws to a close, Mougon-Thorigné offers a final gathering for bargain hunters. Over two days, the communal field transforms into an open-air market where individuals and families come to clear out their attics.

Created from the merger of Mougon and Thorigné in 2019, this new commune is situated in the Mellois plain, halfway between Niort and Melle along the D948.
