International rendezvous for mineral and fossil collectors
For more than half a century, Réalmont has hosted each summer one of the most renowned mineral and fossil shows in south-western France. For its 53rd edition, the Association Minéraux et Réalmont 81 presents a fine selection of French and international exhibitors at the Salle Polyvalente, Place du Foirail. A weekend of discovery, wonder and shopping for enlightened amateurs, seasoned collectors, curious families and lovers of the underground world.
The Réalmont International Minerals, Fossils and Cut Stones Show is one of the oldest such events in Occitanie. Organised for over five decades by the Association Minéraux et Réalmont 81, it has built an international reputation among mineralogists, amateur palaeontologists and collectors. For its 53rd edition in July 2026, the show again promises two days of mineralogical wonder at the Réalmont community hall.
The show gathers around sixty exhibitors from across France and several European countries. You'll find pure crystals (quartz, amethyst, citrine, fluorite, tourmaline), spectacular geodes, ammonite, trilobite and carboniferous plant fossils, meteorites, cut and polished stones, fluorescent minerals, as well as jewellery set with these precious materials. Micromineralogists also find their happiness: binocular-loupe lots, mineral rarities, samples from historic mines of France and the world.
The soul of the Réalmont show is also its educational, human dimension. Unlike major commercial fairs, this one keeps an enthusiast spirit where people take time to discuss, explain, pass on. Children are warmly welcomed (free entry under 14): that's often where vocations are born. Some years, activities, lectures or demonstrations enrich the programme.
Réalmont (3,500 residents) is a 13th-century bastide at the department's geographic centre, halfway between Albi and Castres. It has discreet charm around its arcaded central square, church and historic lanes. The Salle Polyvalente, Place du Foirail, offers vast covered space ideal for this event that draws several thousand visitors each year.
The 53rd International Minerals, Fossils and Cut Stones Show will take place in Réalmont on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July 2026, 9am to 7pm, at the Salle Polyvalente. Around 60 French and international professional exhibitors expected. Entry €2, free under 14. An unmissable event for mineralogy enthusiasts in Occitanie.
