Saint-Mathurin Harvest Festival and Flea Market

A flea market within a big popular festival

Saint-Mathurin's Harvest Festival is one of Vendée coast's emblematic events. Run for nearly 20 years by Agri-Passion 85, held on the last July weekend (2026: around Sunday 26 July). The flea market is integral, alongside many animations: traditional threshing, lawn-mower tractor races, old farm machines display, brass bands, local producers' market, country meals at lunch and dinner.

The flea market itself is on Rue Champs Martin, 8am-6pm, sellers from 7am. Free visitor entry. This combination is particularly appealing: unique setting for bargain-hunting plus a full animation programme.

About 2,400 inhabitants on the Vendée coast, 5 km inland from Les Sables-d'Olonne. In Les Sables-d'Olonne agglomeration. Preserved rural setting, coast beaches (Jard-sur-Mer, Olonne-sur-Mer) 10-15 min away.

Plain-of-Vendée village, some cultivated fields, bocage meadows, traditional farms. Very active Agri-Passion 85 runs the Harvest Festival since its creation, preserving and transmitting Vendée farm heritage.

Tips

Plan a full day for the whole festival (flea market + activities). Country meals possible at lunch and dinner. July - sun protection (hat, sunscreen). Nearby coast for evening extension.
