The largest permanent collectors' market in Île-de-France, since 1989
Just steps from the Bois de Vincennes, in the commune of Saint-Mandé (Val-de-Marne), an extraordinary market has been held every Wednesday morning since 1989. Set along avenue de Paris and place Gallieni, at the exit of Saint-Mandé metro station, around forty professional dealers specialising in collectibles transform these busy streets into a temple of memory and curiosity.
The market stands apart from general flea markets through its highly specialised focus: vintage papers, antique postcards, period photographs, posters, vinyl records spanning all musical eras, philatelic items, coins and medals, antique books, and period toys. Militaria enthusiasts, map collectors and lovers of antique sheet music regularly make exceptional finds here. At the heart of the market, some twenty vendors belonging to the Association des Amis des Collectionneurs form the permanent core, present rain or shine, every week of the year. The ambience is that of an open-air cabinet of curiosities: erudite and passionate, yet never stiff or unwelcoming.
