Le Lien / Familles Rurales relaunch the American-style flea market
After several years' break, Le Lien (local branch of Familles Rurales) relaunches its American-style flea market. 2026: Friday 1 May. The format differs from classic flea markets: sellers display in their own gardens/driveways along participating streets. Visitors wander from garage to garage, in a convivial, unusual shopping experience.
Le Lien has a new team. Event now exclusively for private sellers (no food). Family, non-commercial spirit aligned with Familles Rurales ethos. Price: €4/m (min 2 m), additions in 2 m blocks. Max depth 3 m. Umbrellas/canopies allowed within reserved space.
Setup from 6:30am same day. Organisers assign spots on receipt of booking and payment, first-come first-served, no location choice. Info: liensaintlaurent.fr/VIDE-GRENIER-2026. First major spring event of Saint-Laurent.
About 2,500 inhabitants, Haut-Bocage vendéen, near Maine-et-Loire and Deux-Sèvres. Internationally known as a Marian pilgrimage site: saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort lived his final years here and is buried in the basilica. Several religious congregations. Atmospheric setting for a day of bargain-hunting plus basilica visit.
Basilica, Mortagne-sur-Sèvre, Sèvre Nantaise valley, Puy du Fou (15 min, Les Epesses), Cholet (20 min).
