Biannual car boot sale organized by the Saint-Cyprien Swimming Club to support the Catalan swimming club
The Cercle des Nageurs de Saint-Cyprien (Saint-Cyprien Swimming Club) organizes its traditional biannual car boot sale in the Catalan seaside resort. Two weeks apart, two days of bargain hunting allow private exhibitors to clear out attics, garages, and closets while bargain hunters browse the stands looking for good deals. The event aims to fund the sports activities of the swimming club, a true local institution.
Developed from the 1960s as part of the interministerial mission for the tourist development of Languedoc-Roussillon, Saint-Cyprien has become one of the great seaside resorts of the Catalan coast. With its 6 km of fine sandy beaches between Argelès-sur-Mer and Canet-en-Roussillon, its pleasure port ranked as Europe's third largest, and its marinas, the town embodies the spirit of Mediterranean vacations in Catalan Country. The Cercle des Nageurs is part of this strong maritime and sporting tradition.
The Cercle des Nageurs de Saint-Cyprien is a recognized swimming club in the Pyrénées-Orientales, offering training, competition, and leisure to swimmers of all ages. By organizing these two winter car boot sales, the association secures the financing of its activities and strengthens ties with the local population. A friendly and family atmosphere characterizes these days of bargain hunting by the Mediterranean.
