Rhubarb festival with flea market and crafts in Morfontaine in Meurthe-et-Moselle
Every year in June, the village of Morfontaine celebrates rhubarb with a unique festival, blending flea market finds, crafts, and gastronomy. This original event attracts visitors from all over Meurthe-et-Moselle and beyond, who come to hunt for treasures, discover artisanal creations, and taste rhubarb specialties.
The Rue Maréchal De Lattre De Tassigny hosts around a hundred exhibitors, split between flea market sellers and artisans. The flea market vendors offer antique objects, trinkets, tableware, and curiosities, while artisans showcase their creations: jewelry, pottery, local produce, and decorative items. Stall space is free for flea market sellers (subject to a security deposit), while artisans benefit from a stand with a table for €25.
The day's main attraction remains the making of the famous giant rhubarb pie, 3.20 meters in diameter, collectively prepared and shared among visitors. Rhubarb pies, muffins, and crumbles complete the gourmet offerings. Three musical groups, including Echo Lali, entertain on stage throughout the day, creating a festive and warm atmosphere.
