Major spring réderie in the heart of the Picard town
The Poix-de-Picardie réderie takes over the town centre on Sunday 3 May 2026. A highlight for bargain hunters from the Vimeu and Évoissons valley, this traditional Picard event brings private sellers and professional dealers to the main streets of this canton town. Each spring it opens the réderie season in western Somme and draws visitors from across the department.
The réderie, the Picard equivalent of the flea market, is a genuine institution in the Somme department. The Poix-de-Picardie edition is one of the must-see events on the local spring calendar. On Sunday 3 May 2026, the centre of this town nestled in the Évoissons valley becomes a huge open-air market where private sellers and dealers lay out their treasures along the main streets.
Visitors find everything that makes a real réderie special: old farm tools, antique tableware, 1970s-80s toys, vinyl records, paperbacks, clothing, trinkets, second-hand furniture, old postcards, collectibles and all-round bric-à-brac. Most exhibitors are local residents clearing attics and garages with friendly prices. A few professional dealers round out the offering with sought-after pieces.
A canton town, Poix-de-Picardie is a small place of character on the Évoissons. Its listed Saint-Denis church watches over the village from the 16th century. The town centre keeps its authentic charm with local shops, squares and cafés perfect for a break between browsing. Located on the Amiens-Rouen route, the town regularly hosts events drawing the whole Vimeu area.
The Poix-de-Picardie réderie has that typical Picard gathering feel: human warmth, local accent, lively haggling, reunions between regulars. People take their time, stop for candy floss or a waffle, greet neighbouring stallholders. Town centre restaurants, bars and cafés stay open all day, and a few food trucks set up in the streets.
Arrive early — the best finds go before noon. Bring cash, a sturdy bag or wheeled trolley, and comfortable shoes. Parking is on the outskirts of the centre with a short walk to the réderie. The event is held rain or shine, with sellers using tarpaulins when needed.
