About Folleville Flea Market

The Folleville réderie is a spring event organized on the main street of this small village classified among the most beautiful heritage sites of the Somme. Bargain hunters and private vendors gather for a day of flea market at the foot of the ruins of the feudal castle and the remarkable Gothic church. A unique setting for a Picardy réderie in the Santerre.

The Folleville réderie: bargain hunting at the foot of the castle

Folleville is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable villages in Picardy's Santerre: its silhouette, dominated by the spectacular ruins of the 14th and 15th century feudal castle and by the elegant Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-et-Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, attracts heritage lovers all year round. Every spring, the village hosts its annual réderie, set up on the main street crossing the town. The event, organized by the municipality with the support of local associations, is part of the Picardy tradition of rural flea markets.

What makes this réderie special

Beyond the pleasure of bargain hunting, the Folleville réderie offers visitors the opportunity to discover exceptional heritage. The Saint-Jacques church houses one of the most beautiful sets of Gothic funerary sculptures in the Somme, with the recumbent statues of Raoul de Lannoy and his wife, masterpieces of the French Renaissance. The castle ruins, perched on a promontory overlooking the village, offer a striking panorama of the Picardy countryside. Many bargain hunters take advantage of their morning visit to extend the day by discovering these sites.

A human-scale réderie

On the main street, private individuals and a few professionals unpack on the sidewalks and squares of the village: dishware, household linen, books, children's toys, records, tools, small furniture and always a few surprising finds. The event retains its village and family character, far from the large urban réderies of Amiens or Abbeville. Visitors appreciate this peaceful atmosphere where you take the time to browse and chat.

Folleville, a jewel in the heart of the Santerre

Located halfway between Amiens and Montdidier, Folleville is one of the rural Somme villages that has preserved its identity. The village, which has only a hundred inhabitants, is classified as a remarkable heritage site. Bargain hunters who take the road to come here do not settle for a simple flea market: they live a complete experience mixing bargain hunting, heritage and regional gastronomy in a landscape of undulating plains typical of the Santerre.
