The Cappy Rederie: bargain hunting by the Somme with a bathtub race

Cappy's belongs to this last category, thanks to its hundred exhibitors, its exceptional setting (a pleasure port in a protected valley) and especially its fantasy local tradition: the bathtub race.

A rederie at the pleasure port

Cappy is one of the finest inland pleasure ports of the Somme canal. Setting up a rederie around this port completely transforms the traditional flea market setting.

The bathtub race: a Picard classic

Teams of two or three compete on a delimited course along the Somme, each in a bathtub transformed into a boat (cobbled together, decorated, sometimes completely wacky). Laughs guaranteed.

What to find

With a hundred exhibitors, rich variety: individuals dominant but also some professionals with antique furniture, regional crockery, maritime objects.

Cappy, discreet valley gem

Commune of less than 500 inhabitants in the Haute-Somme, exceptional site in the middle of the protected valley.
