Couture, patchwork, and creative hobbies market in Haute-Loire
Every spring, the Salle polyvalente in Saint-Christophe-sur-Dolaison hosts the Puces des Couturières, a market dedicated to sewing, patchwork, embroidery, and creative hobbies. Organized by the association Les doigts en folie, the event brings together individuals and associations around textile materials, haberdashery, sewing machines, and artisanal creations, with refreshments, a tombola, and a foodtruck on site.
Nestled in the Velay plain a few kilometers from Le Puy-en-Velay, the commune of Saint-Christophe-sur-Dolaison is the scene each spring of an event appreciated by sewing and creative hobby enthusiasts: the Puces des Couturières. This event, organized by the local association Les doigts en folie, transforms the village's multi-purpose hall into a true textile bazaar where one can hunt for treasures, exchange, and create.
Unlike an ordinary car boot sale, the Puces des Couturières has a very specific identity: everything revolves around sewing, thread, and creative crafts. You'll find all kinds of fabrics, balls of wool, embroidery or patchwork kits, fine haberdashery, second-hand sewing and overlocking machines, patterns, specialized books, as well as creations made by local workshops and associations. Sellers include both individuals wanting to clear out their stock and creators and associations offering their work.
The event takes place in the village's multi-purpose hall, at 3 rue des Écoles, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments are available, a foodtruck offers on-site catering, and a tombola organized by the association adds a touch of good cheer. The event generally takes place at the end of April, offering a great opportunity to find original gifts in anticipation of Mother's Day or Father's Day.
