Historic popular flea market at Porte de Montreuil, Paris 20th
A Parisian institution since the 19th century, the Porte de Montreuil Flea Market gathers around 300 sellers every Saturday, Sunday and Monday on avenue du Professeur-André-Lemierre, at the edge of the 20th district. More popular and less touristy than Saint-Ouen, it remains the kingdom of cheap vintage clothing, bric-à-brac, second-hand tools and curiosities of all kinds.
The Porte de Montreuil Flea Market is one of Paris's three historic flea markets, alongside Saint-Ouen and Vanves. Open Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 7am to 6.30pm, with around 300 sellers.
Heir to the 19th-century rag-pickers, the market retains its popular character and focus on low prices and recycling.
A vast range: vintage clothing, shoes, household linen, bags, costume jewellery, watches, old tools, spare parts, small appliances, tableware, books, records, toys and curiosities.
Smells, sounds and colourful humanity give the market its soul. Bargaining is part of the game.
At Porte de Montreuil, served by metro line 9 and tram T3b. Come early for the best finds.
