Large summer flea market on the Carouge and Bouverie squares in Le Pont-de-Beauvoisin
In late July, the Comité des fêtes brings the town centre to life with its large annual flea market. Around 200 sellers fill the Carouge and Bouverie squares and surrounding streets with a host of second-hand goods.
The two main squares transform into a vast open-air market. The place Carouge, lined with arcades and shops, and the more spacious place de la Bouverie host stalls offering antiques, old furniture, crockery, ornaments, vintage clothing, vinyl records, second-hand books, old tools, toys and collectables.
Le Pont-de-Beauvoisin is a small town with a rich history, straddling two departments for centuries. The famous bridge over the Guiers once marked the border between the Kingdom of France and the Duchy of Savoy.
A refreshment bar and food stalls are available. The atmosphere is festive and popular, characteristic of this dynamic commune in the Avant-Pays savoyard.
