The City Centre Flea Market: a late-September Poissy tradition

Every year, on the last weekend of September, Place de la République in Poissy turns into a huge open-air market dedicated to flea market and second-hand goods. Organized by the municipality, this event has become one of the highlights of the Poissy autumn season. From 8am to 6:30pm, visitors stroll between stalls in search of bargains or unusual pieces.

Nearly 300 exhibitors in a heritage setting

The event brings together an average of three hundred exhibitors, mostly private individuals clearing their attics. You can find everything: old books, comics, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, clothes, toys, vinyls, decorative items and curiosities. Place de la République, bordered by the historic Notre-Dame collegiate church, provides an exceptional setting for this popular festival.

Located on the banks of the Seine, about twenty kilometres west of Paris, Poissy is a city with a rich history. Birthplace of King Saint Louis, who was baptized here in 1214, the town has preserved a remarkable medieval heritage. The old centre, with its cobbled streets and old houses, is an ideal setting for a large open-air flea market.

To make the most of the event, it's best to arrive early in the morning. Poissy is easily accessible by RER A from Paris, and the station is a few minutes' walk from Place de la République.
