The great treasure hunt of the Oise valley, every second Sunday of September
On the banks of the Oise, a few kilometres from Beaumont-sur-Oise, the town of Persan (95340) is a working-class community shaped by a strong industrial past linked to papermaking and metallurgy. Every second Sunday of September, its residents and visitors from neighbouring communes gather for the annual flea market, a fixture in local life for many years.
The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday 13 September. This popular event draws dozens of private sellers who use the end of summer to clear out attics and cellars: salvaged furniture, vintage crockery, second-hand clothing, books, toys and all manner of objects fill the stalls.
The town is served by Transilien line H from Paris-Nord (under one hour), making the flea market easily accessible to Paris-based bargain hunters. The river Oise, which flows through the valley, shapes a landscape of meadows and poplars that provides a picturesque backdrop to this popular event.
