The annual flea market of the Péronne fishing society
The Réderie des pêcheurs de Péronne is an annual event organised by the local fishing society on Whit Monday. This community flea market attracts Péronne residents and bargain hunters of the upper Somme for a friendly day in support of the fishing society's activities. The 2026 edition takes place on Monday May 25.
Péronne, sub-prefecture of the Somme and city of art and history, is known for its rich medieval heritage, its castle and its Historial de la Grande Guerre. The city hosts several réderies each year, including that of the fishing society on Whit Monday.
The anglers' réderie is a fine example of a community event, funding the society's activities, pond maintenance and river development.
Like any good Picard réderie, the anglers' event offers a varied assortment including used fishing gear, clothing, toys, books and bric-a-brac.
Péronne, about 7,500 inhabitants, is a fortified town full of history. The Historial de la Grande Guerre draws visitors from around the world.
Taking part means combining bargain hunting with support for local community life.
