About Albinque Flea Market

The Petite brocante de l'Albinque is one of the most loyal dates on the Castres calendar. Under the fine covered hall of l'Albinque on Avenue de Lautrec, a handful of professional and semi-professional dealers set out their stalls one Saturday or Sunday morning a month. Quiet atmosphere, well-chosen goods, negotiable prices: a real treat for bargain hunters who enjoy taking their time to explore, at the rhythm of a human-scale event.

A fixture of the Albinque district

The Albinque district, north of Castres town centre, is known for its covered market hall, a modern municipal market on Place Pierre Fabre. Several times a month the venue hosts a recurring flea market run by the Antiquités Brocante de l'Albinque association, in partnership with the local neighbourhood association. The format is steady: a few monthly mornings on the covered-market floor or under the hall, with a small group of regular exhibitors who know their clientele well.

What you come looking for

Unlike the big spring flea markets, the Albinque brocante leans to "small dealers". Exhibitors, usually six or seven depending on the weather, bring curated goods: vintage clothing and secondhand wear, crockery and glassware, antique books, postcards, stamps, trinkets, small furniture, vinyl records and curiosities. It is a conversational place among regulars, where people bargain and hunt for the one piece that completes a collection.

A big annual flea market in May

Once a year the scale shifts: in May the Albinque district puts on a large outdoor flea market open to private sellers. Over 160 exhibitors fill Place Pierre Fabre and the surrounding streets for an exceptional edition that turns the usual calendar into a true neighbourhood celebration. The Sunday concerned draws several thousand visitors.

A covered hall enjoyable in all seasons

The key asset of the Petite brocante de l'Albinque is its covered setting. Winter or summer, the event is unaffected by rain or heat. The hall has good ceiling height, easy circulation and is ideally located to extend the morning with a coffee nearby or a visit to the historic centre of Castres (the houses along the Agout, the Goya Museum, the bishop's garden).

Good to know for regulars and newcomers

The 2026 calendar includes several dates: 21 February, 4, 11 and 18 April, 17 May (annual big flea market) and others throughout the year. To keep track, it's best to check specialist sites (mybrocante.fr, vide-greniers.org) or reach out to the association.

Albinque Flea Market — edition 2026
