The itinerant book sales of the Mont-de-Marsan Neighborhood Councils
The book sales of the Mont-de-Marsan Neighborhood Councils offer 5 Sundays a year, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., a market dedicated to books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, and video games. Each event is held in a different neighborhood of the city: city center, Saint-Médard, Saint-Jean-d'Août, Beillet/Dagas. Reserved for individuals, registration is free and everyone brings their own equipment. A friendly literary and musical gathering in the prefecture of the Landes.
The Neighborhood Councils of Mont-de-Marsan organize itinerant book sales throughout the year, moving from neighborhood to neighborhood. This original concept allows residents to sell and buy books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, and video games in a friendly and local atmosphere, every Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Each book sale is held in a different neighborhood of the city: in front of the Town Hall for the city center, at the Charles Despiau high school parking lot for the Beillet/Dagas neighborhood, at the Super U parking lot for Saint-Jean-d'Août, or in the Saint-Médard neighborhood. This itinerant nature allows it to reach a varied audience and create social connections in each area of the city.
The book sales are reserved for individuals. Each seller wishing to present the treasures from their library or collection must bring their own equipment and set up from 8:30 a.m. Registration is free and can be done through the Neighborhood Life Service of the Mont-de-Marsan town hall. The event closes at noon, offering an ideal morning of cultural treasure hunting.
The prefecture of the Landes, Mont-de-Marsan has a rich network of media libraries and a dynamic cultural life. The book sales are part of this tradition by offering readers and collectors an accessible way to refresh their libraries while giving a second life to books and records.
