Spring bargain hunting between Abbeville and the Bay of Somme
Miannay is one of those Somme villages you cross heading from the Picardy coast to Abbeville. Nestled in the plain, between meadows and cultivated land, this rural commune preserves an authentic charm.
The Miannay centre, as in many Picard villages, revolves around the church and public buildings. A convivial feel, with hunters circling at leisure, exhibitors knowing each other.
"Brocante" implies an event open to professionals alongside individuals. Expect antique furniture, period crockery, collectibles (postcards, old papers, antique toys, trade tools), plus typical family bric-a-brac.
A commune a few kilometres south-west of Abbeville, at the junction of Ponthieu and Vimeu, near the Bay of Somme. Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, Le Crotoy and Cayeux-sur-Mer are within thirty minutes.
Arrive early for the best pieces. Bring cash, a suitable vehicle for furniture. Late morning is busiest; afternoon is best for negotiation. Extend with a trip to the Bay of Somme.
Miannay is accessible via A28 and A16 through Abbeville, then local roads. Street parking.
