The Marcellois Car Boot Sale and Plant Swap

Every year in May, the Marcelloisirs association transforms the streets of the village of Marcellois into a place for treasure hunting and plant sharing. The car boot sale, set up along Rue Saint-Antoine, hosts fewer than 50 exhibitors at a rate of 1.50 euros per linear meter. Visitors, welcomed from 7:30 am, wander between the flea market stalls and the plant tables.

The Plant Swap, a Moment of Sharing

From 10 am, the plant swap comes alive: perennials, annuals, aromatics, shrubs, and vegetable plants are exchanged for free among passionate gardeners. Each pot must be carefully labeled and the plants well-rooted, to ensure quality exchanges. It's also an opportunity to share advice and tips among gardening enthusiasts.

Marcellois, a Village in Auxois

Marcellois is a peaceful village in the Auxois region, in the center of Côte-d'Or, between Vitteaux and Pouilly-en-Auxois. The rural setting, with its wash house decorated for the occasion, its stone houses, and its flowery gardens, adds to the charm of this event which combines treasure hunting, gardening, and musical entertainment with the batucada that sets the rhythm of the day. The meal trays and waffles offered by volunteers allow for pleasant refreshment.
