The Grand Troc, Exchange at the Heart of Pennautier

The Grand Troc de Pennautier is an original monthly event organized by the Sipom association: every first Wednesday of the month, from 1 PM to 6 PM, residents of Pennautier and the surrounding areas meet at the entrance of the chemin de Saint-Pierre to exchange their items. The concept is simple and appealing: bring an item, leave with another.

The Principle of Swapping in Action

Unlike a classic car boot sale or flea market, the Grand Troc is based on direct exchange between participants. No money, no commercial transactions: one item for another, with respect and good humor. Accepted for exchange: small furniture, dishes, clothes, toys, and objects of all kinds, provided they are in good condition and clean.

An Environmental and Social Commitment

The Grand Troc de Pennautier embodies a responsible consumption approach: rather than throwing away or buying new, participants give a second life to their items and leave with something useful or that they like. This logic of a short circuit and solidarity economy perfectly aligns with the values promoted by the Sipom association.

Pennautier, Wine Village of the Carcassonnais

Pennautier (11610) is a village in the Carcassonnais region, located a few kilometers west of Carcassonne, in the Lauragais plain. Known for its 17th-century castle surrounded by a French formal garden, this wine village is also renowned for its Malepère wines. Its proximity to Carcassonne makes it easily accessible from the urban area.

To Participate

Simply come to the chemin de Saint-Pierre in Pennautier on the first Wednesday of the month from 1 PM, with at least one item to exchange. No reservation is necessary. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, in the spirit of village gatherings.
