The Champagnier Car Boot Sale: Nearly 30 Years of Tradition

For nearly three decades, the Sou des Écoles de Champagnier has organized its annual car boot sale at the gymnase des 4 Vents. This event, approaching its 30th edition, has become a must-attend autumn gathering in the town and its surroundings, south of Grenoble.

An Indoor Format Appreciated in November

The choice of an indoor car boot sale, at the gymnase des 4 Vents, is particularly relevant for this time of year. In late November, weather conditions no longer permit outdoor events, and the gymnasium offers a covered, heated, and comfortable space for both exhibitors and visitors. Each spot includes a table and two chairs.

Champagnier, Between Drac and Plateaux

Champagnier is a commune in the Grenoble metropolitan area, located south of Grenoble, between the Drac valley and the Matheysin plateau hills. This residential village retains a pleasant rural character and a dynamic associative life, of which the Sou des Écoles is one of the pillars. The proceeds from the car boot sale contribute to funding school and extracurricular activities for the town's children.

Well-Oiled Organization

Items can be dropped off on the Saturday before the event, between 5 pm and 7 pm, which facilitates exhibitors' setup. On Sunday morning, exhibitors finish setting up between 6 am and 8 am before opening to visitors at 8 am. Food and drinks are available on site throughout the day.
