Stalls offer Périgord country furniture, antique tableware, earthenware, trinkets, tools, books, and collectibles, in a village market atmosphere where everyone knows each other.

Fontevrault Square, the Setting for the Flea Market

Fontevrault Square, named after the former abbey that marked the commune's history, is the heart of the village of Cherveix-Cubas. This open space, lined with local stone houses, is perfectly suited for setting up flea market stalls. August 15th being a public holiday, attendance is naturally high, attracting visitors from all over Périgord Noir and the neighboring Limousin region.

Cherveix-Cubas, Between Hautefort and Excideuil

Cherveix-Cubas is a commune of about 700 inhabitants located in the Auvézère valley, between the towns of Hautefort and Excideuil. This area of eastern Périgord Noir is rich in heritage, with the nearby Château de Hautefort, one of the most majestic in Périgord, and the medieval fortress of Excideuil. The commune itself preserves vestiges of a priory founded by the Abbey of Fontevraud, which gave its name to the square hosting the flea market.
