Nestled in the Palente district, northeast of Besançon, the Place des Tilleuls has been a lively public space since its renovation. The food market is already in full swing on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, and it is in this same friendly dynamic that the weekly flea market has settled. Every week, about ten professional exhibitors set up on the renovated square to offer their finds to the residents of the district and to treasure hunters from further afield.

The meeting is set from 8 a.m., with exhibitors sometimes setting up as early as 7:30 a.m. to be ready to welcome the first visitors. The flea market runs until 1 p.m., leaving the entire morning to browse the stalls and unearth rare pieces. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm, true to the spirit of a neighborhood market where sellers and regulars eventually get to know each other.

The exhibitors at Place des Tilleuls offer an eclectic selection characteristic of French flea markets: antique tableware and dinnerware, decorative objects and collectible trinkets, small furniture and vintage furniture, old books and magazines, vinyl records and cassettes, tools and kitchen utensils, old toys and games, embroidered linens, and all sorts of curiosities that are difficult to categorize but add to the charm of these markets. The offerings vary with the seasons and arrivals, ensuring renewed discoveries with each visit.
