Annual car boot sale in the center of the village of Monbardon, organized by the foyer and the pétanque club, with a covered pétanque court
The foyer and the pétanque club of Monbardon (32420) organize a friendly car boot sale every early June in the center of this tiny Gascon village of 73 inhabitants, perched at 250 meters altitude in the south of Gers. The pitch is offered at €2.50 per linear meter, with a coffee offered to exhibitors. In case of rain, the covered boulodrome allows the event to be held, a rare originality for a village car boot sale.
Every early June, the foyer and the pétanque club of Monbardon organize a car boot sale in the center of this small village in the south of Gers. With only 73 inhabitants, Monbardon (32420) is one of those Gascon micro-municipalities where associative life remains the cement of the community. The car boot sale is one of the few events of the year, and it attracts visitors from surrounding towns, from Boulogne-sur-Gesse to Mirande.
The originality of this car boot sale lies in the presence of a covered boulodrome which can accommodate exhibitors in case of bad weather. This infrastructure, rare in such a small village, guarantees that the event can be held regardless of the weather, a significant asset in the Gers spring calendar. Exhibitors who set up outdoors can enjoy the rural setting of the village center.
The pitch is offered at €2.50 per linear meter, with a free coffee for each exhibitor — a typically Gascon welcome gesture that sets the tone for the day. Exhibitors set up from 6 a.m. to display their items: clothing, dishes, toys, tools, books, trinkets, and curiosities of all kinds. The refreshment stand and catering, run by volunteers from the foyer, offer local specialties.
Monbardon (32420) is a former commune in Gers, merged into the new commune of Cap d'Astarac since January 1, 2025. This micro-village in Astarac, perched at 250 meters altitude, is surrounded by the communes of Monties, Aussos, and Nénigan. The landscape is that of the southern Gers hills, with its cereal fields, oak groves, and isolated farms. Despite its modest size, Monbardon maintains a dynamic associative life thanks to the foyer and the pétanque club.
The Monbardon car boot sale will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in the center of the village. Exhibitors open from 6 a.m. Pitch at €2.50/linear meter, coffee offered. Covered boulodrome in case of rain. Refreshments and catering on site.
