Hatrize, a commune in the Val d'Orne region of Meurthe-et-Moselle, has been hosting its annual grand flea market - car boot sale for nearly a quarter of a century. The event, which will be in its 24th edition in 2026, has established itself as one of the major treasure hunting events in the north of the department. The village streets are transformed into a huge open-air flea market, attracting treasure hunters and families from all over the region.
Avenue du Val d'Orne and the adjacent streets host over 160 private exhibitors each year who offer crockery, furniture, clothing, toys, books, and collector's items. The treasure hunting route, stretching for several hundred meters, offers visitors a pleasant walk punctuated by discoveries. The association Anim'Hatrize ensures the smooth running of the event and prohibits the sale of food products, new items, and animals.
The festive atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of a refreshment and catering area. Coffee is offered to exhibitors upon arrival, and cold drinks, pastries, and fast food accompany this outdoor day. Exhibitor setup begins as early as 5 a.m. for the early birds, while visitors flock throughout the day.
Hatrize is located in the Orne valley, between Briey and Conflans-en-Jarnisy. This village with its Lorraine industrial heritage offers a green setting conducive to walks. The flea market is an excellent opportunity to discover this dynamic commune and its surroundings, between historical sites and the preserved nature of the northern Meuse region.
The 24th edition of the Hatrize Flea Market - Car Boot Sale will be held on April 26, 2026, in the village streets, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Over 160 exhibitors expected. Price: €5 for 3 meters.
