Spring car boot sale in Lunas-les-Châteaux, medieval village in the Hauts Cantons of Hérault
The Lunas car boot sale is held every year on the Pentecost weekend in this medieval village in the Hérault highlands. For two days, individuals offer clothes, toys, books, and various items in the picturesque setting of Lunas-les-Châteaux, dominated by its feudal ruins.
Every spring, the village of Lunas (34650) hosts its car boot sale over two days. Private sellers set up their stalls in the village center to offer clothes, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, and small furniture. The event attracts bargain hunters from the Hauts Cantons of Hérault, the Lodévois, and the Larzac plateau.
Nicknamed Lunas-les-Châteaux because of its three medieval fortresses overlooking the village, Lunas is a commune of about 670 inhabitants nestled in the upper valley of the Gravezon. The built heritage—feudal ruins, Romanesque church, ancient bridge—testifies to the strategic importance of this site in the Middle Ages. The gorges, chestnut forests, and springs feed a wild and preserved landscape.
The Lunas car boot sale offers an authentic atmosphere far from the hustle and bustle of the coast. Visitors appreciate the tranquility of the village, the quality of interactions, and the pleasure of bargain hunting at altitude. After the hunt, hiking trails around the castles and the discovery of the region's Romanesque heritage pleasantly complete the weekend.
The Lunas car boot sale returns on May 24 and 25, 2026, in the village center. Private sellers, free entry, medieval setting.
