The Village Festival of La Rochette

Each year in September, the village of La Rochette comes alive for two days on the occasion of its traditional Village Festival. Organized by the Foyer Rural de La Rochette, this friendly event takes place on the Château and church square, in a remarkable heritage setting. The car boot sale and garage sale are at the heart of the event, accompanied by a market of local producers and artisans.

Two days of festivities

On Saturday, exhibitors set up from 6 in the morning on the Château square for the car boot sale and garage sale (cars, motorcycles). In the afternoon, games for children are offered, including a junior slipper throwing contest. In the evening, barbecues, a fashion show, balloon sculptor, popular ball, torchlight procession, and fireworks extend the festivities late into the night.

On Sunday, 6 and 11 km hikes leave the village at 9 am. Also on the program: tractor rally, regional meal, agricultural equipment exhibition, plowing demonstrations, folk show, and the grand slipper throwing contest. Conferences and exhibitions at the château complete this day rich in discoveries.

The Château de La Rochette

The Château de La Rochette overlooks the village and offers a majestic setting for this popular festival. This historic building, located in the heart of the village, is surrounded by a shaded square ideal for outdoor events. La Rochette, a small town in the northeast of Charente, is located in the territory of La Rochefoucauld-en-Angoumois, in a hilly landscape of groves and forests.
