Every May 1st, La Réole (33190) celebrates spring with its Flower Festival, a popular event that combines a large flower and plant market with a car boot sale. La Réole is a commune of about 4,500 inhabitants located on the banks of the Garonne, halfway between Bordeaux and Marmande. This medieval bastide founded in the 12th century has remarkable architectural heritage: its Benedictine priory, its Quat'Sos castle, its ramparts, and its half-timbered houses make it one of the most picturesque towns in Sud-Gironde.
