Grigny is an Essonne commune of around 28,000 inhabitants, in the southern inner suburbs of Greater Paris, along RER D. Best known for its Grande Borne estate — designed in the 1960s–70s by architect Renée Gailhoustet, with its winding lanes, coloured squares, integrated sculptures and organic forms — it is a remarkable piece of 20th-century urban heritage. The commune is part of the Grand Paris Sud agglomeration and is undergoing major urban renewal.
The Festiv'M&G association organises a festive flea market each year on the Allée des Iris, gathering between 80 and 120 private sellers. The festive atmosphere — with music, activities and refreshments — gives this event a warm, convivial character. Free entry for visitors.
