Car boot sale organized by the Sainte-Marie school of Saint-Pol-de-Léon
In March, the Sainte-Marie school of Saint-Pol-de-Léon organizes its annual car boot sale. Tables at €6.50 and racks at €1.50, setup from 7:30 am. This family-friendly and convivial event allows families to clear out their closets while supporting the private school in this capital of Breton Léon, near the Finistère vegetable-growing region.
Saint-Pol-de-Léon is the historic capital of Breton Léon, a city of art and history whose splendid Gothic cathedral and the Kreisker chapel dominate the rooftops. A market and agricultural town, gateway to the Finistère vegetable-growing region – France's leading producer of artichokes and cauliflower – Saint-Pol-de-Léon also has a diverse educational fabric, with several public and private schools.
Among the latter, Sainte-Marie school plays an important role in local life. Each year, in the spring, the parents' association or teachers organize a car boot sale to liven up the school community and raise funds for student activities. This event, accessible to all, brings together exhibitors from Saint-Pol-de-Léon and neighboring towns: Roscoff, Carantec, Plouénan, Cléder...
The car boot sale is carefully organized. Exhibitors can set up from 7:30 am, leaving plenty of time to prepare everything before visitors arrive. Tables are available for €6.50 each, and clothes racks for €1.50. These reasonable prices encourage participation from families wanting to clear out their closets and attics.
The day runs from 9 am to 5 pm, in a friendly atmosphere typical of school car boot sales. You'll find the usual variety of second-hand items: children's and adult clothing, toys, books, board games, tableware, small decorative items... All in a spirit of solidarity and recycling that fits the times. School volunteers ensure a warm welcome and often provide light refreshments on-site to maintain the convivial atmosphere.
For visitors from outside the area, the Sainte-Marie school car boot sale can be part of a discovery tour of Saint-Pol-de-Léon. The town is well worth a visit: Notre-Dame-du-Kreisker Cathedral, the chapel of the same name with its 77-meter Gothic spire, medieval canon houses, a lively weekly market... Combining a morning of treasure hunting with an afternoon of sightseeing in this city of art and history makes this spring car boot sale an ideal excuse to (re)discover Léon.
In April 2026, the Sainte-Marie school car boot sale returns to Saint-Pol-de-Léon. Exhibitors and visitors meet for this convivial day from 9 am to 5 pm. Tables at €6.50, racks at €1.50, setup from 7:30 am.
