The Drulingen Car Boot Sale celebrates its 18th edition in 2026, demonstrating the loyalty and expertise of the organizers. For nearly two decades, the Drulingen Tennis de Table club has been mobilizing its volunteers to offer a quality event to bargain hunters and exhibitors. Tables and pitches are set up on Place Martzloff, the central square of the village, from early morning at 6:00 AM. The proceeds allow the club to fund its sports activities and equipment, thus perpetuating a strong associative tradition in this Alsace Bossue region.

Drulingen, capital of Alsace Bossue

Drulingen is a small commune of about 1,200 inhabitants located in the Bas-Rhin, in the heart of the natural region of Alsace Bossue. This hilly micro-region in the northwest of Alsace, which owes its name to its rolling relief, has a rural and authentic character distinct from the rest of the Alsatian plain. Drulingen is the historical capital of Alsace Bossue and centralizes the administrative and commercial services of this rural region. The village retains an interesting heritage with its Protestant church, its town hall, and its characteristic pink sandstone houses. The local population still largely speaks Lorraine Rhine Franconian (a Germanic dialect distinct from traditional Alsatian), testifying to the unique cultural identity of this region bordering Moselle.

The organization provided by the Tennis de Table club is worthy of the event's reputation. Exhibitors set up from 6:00 AM, and bargain hunters arrive early to get the best finds. A wide variety of items is offered: clothing, toys, dishware, trinkets, furniture, books, records, postcards, tools, and collectibles. The refreshment stand and food service provided by club volunteers operates until 6:00 PM, with grilled items, tarte flambée (flammekueche), and pizzas on the menu, accompanied by local beers and refreshments.
