Picard May Day flea market on rue Arthur Gelle
The Dromesnil Flea Market is held every May 1st on rue Arthur Gelle, in this small Vimeu village located between Amiens and Abbeville. This annual réderie, typical of the rural traditions of the Somme, brings together private exhibitors and bargain hunters in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
Every May 1st, the village of Dromesnil comes alive for its annual réderie, perpetuating the great Picard tradition of Labor Day flea markets. Located in the Vimeu, this region of western Somme long specialized in locksmithing and fine metallurgy, the commune opens its rue Arthur Gelle to exhibitors.
Rue Arthur Gelle becomes for the occasion a long bargain hunting alley where stands follow one after another. This typical arrangement of small village flea markets gives the event an informal and warm look.
Like any self-respecting réderie, Dromesnil features a representative sample of everyday objects: clothing, crockery, books, toys, childcare equipment, knick-knacks, records, small furniture, tools.
Dromesnil is a small rural commune of about a hundred inhabitants, nestled in the Picard countryside of the Vimeu.
For organized bargain hunters, the Dromesnil Flea Market is often integrated into a larger circuit that can include neighboring events of the Vimeu, the Amiénois or the Somme valley.
