Saint-Aignan Flea Market - Rue des Arcades

A bargain hunt in the heart of a Garonne valley village

Saint-Aignan is one of those discreet little villages that bring all the charm to Tarn-et-Garonne. Nestled just 3 kilometres from Castelsarrasin and 23 kilometres from Montauban, this village of 420 inhabitants is crossed by the majestic Garonne and surrounded by orchards and fields. Every end of August, its picturesque Rue des Arcades, lined with old houses and its famous embans (covered galleries), hosts the traditional village flea market.

The event, scheduled for Sunday 30 August 2026, is one of the last great bargain hunting events of the summer in the Castelsarrasin area.

A stroll under the arcades

The setting makes the originality of the event. Rue des Arcades, with its embans typical of South-Western rural architecture, offers a stroll sheltered from the late summer sun. Exhibitors - mostly individuals from the village and neighbouring communes - unpack their treasures along the street: tableware, clothing, books, toys, vinyl records, small brocante, accent furniture and varied bric-a-brac.

Cold drinks, ice cream and conviviality

Beyond the bargain hunt, the organisers have particularly cared for the visitors' welcome. A refreshment stand offers cold drinks and an ice cream bar accompanies the stroll - a real plus for bargain hunters coming with family.
