Every year in May, the Place de l'Église in Oigny-en-Valois transforms into an open-air flea market. This small village in Valois, nestled in the green countryside of southern Aisne between Villers-Cotterêts and the Retz forest, offers a bucolic setting for a morning of outdoor treasure hunting.
The Oigny-en-Valois car boot sale is strictly reserved for non-professionals. This rule ensures an authentic car boot sale atmosphere, with attractive prices and a variety of items straight from residents' attics: crockery, books, toys, clothes, trinkets, and small furniture. Participation is free for the first 5 meters, then charged at 2 euros per additional meter.
Oigny-en-Valois is located near the Retz forest, one of the largest state-owned forests in Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France. Visitors to the car boot sale can extend their outing with a forest walk or a visit to the picturesque villages of Valois. The on-site refreshments and light snacks nicely complement this Sunday outing.
