A friendly car boot sale in the heart of Cantal

Every spring, the village of Menet hosts its traditional car boot sale, a must-attend event for bargain hunters in northern Cantal. The event unfolds in the village streets, between the Place de la Fontaine and the Place du Foireail, offering a picturesque setting for bargain hunters. About a hundred exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, offer a varied range of items: furniture, tableware, clothing, toys, books, and curiosities of all kinds.

Menet, a village of character at the gates of the volcanoes

Located at an altitude of 700 meters, the commune of Menet (15400) is at the gates of the Regional Natural Park of the Volcanoes of Auvergne, in a preserved environment between green plateaus and forests. The village, crossed by the Sumène river, retains an authentic rural heritage with its stone houses and Romanesque church. The nearby Menet lake adds to the charm of this area conducive to relaxation and bargain hunting.

Free placement and no registration

One of the particularities of this car boot sale is its ease of access for exhibitors: no reservation, no prior registration. Placement is free from 5 am, allowing sellers to choose their spot upon arrival. The exhibitor fee remains very affordable: €5 for 4 meters, then €1 per additional meter. Visitors benefit from completely free entry.

A festive and gourmet day

From 7 am to 5 pm, the aisles of the Menet car boot sale come alive with negotiations and discoveries. A refreshment stand and on-site catering allow visitors to eat throughout the day. The relaxed and warm atmosphere of this event makes it a cherished moment for locals and holidaymakers passing through Cantal.
