A friendly parents' association flea market in the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Natural Park
Every spring, the Cernay-la-Ville Parents' Association organizes its annual flea market in the Philippe Rocher gardens, in the heart of this Yvelines village nestled in the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Natural Park. A family-friendly and charitable event, it brings together private exhibitors and bargain hunters for a day in the countryside, while supporting school projects.
The Cernay-la-Ville flea market is a much-anticipated spring event in the south of the Yvelines. Organized annually by the Cernay Parents' Association, it takes place in the Philippe Rocher gardens, a green oasis at the center of this picturesque village in the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Natural Park. The event combines the friendly atmosphere of a village flea market with the beauty of a preserved natural setting.
The uniqueness of this flea market lies in its charitable purpose. All proceeds from stall fees and refreshments are donated to the association to finance school projects and educational outings for the children of the village school. Visitors directly contribute to the educational life of the village while enjoying a pleasant day of bargain hunting. This community spirit gives the event a warmth rarely found in larger urban flea markets.
Exhibitors, mostly local residents, offer a wide range of second-hand items: children's and adult clothing, toys, books, tableware, small furniture, decorative items, bicycles, childcare equipment, and miscellaneous bric-a-brac. The atmosphere remains family-friendly, with modest prices and room for friendly bargaining. A refreshment stand run by volunteers serves snacks throughout the day.
Cernay-la-Ville is a rural Yvelines commune of fewer than 2,000 inhabitants, famous for its Vaux de Cernay pond, a classified natural site among the most beautiful in the Île-de-France region. The romantic ruins of the former Cistercian Vaux de Cernay abbey, the hiking trails winding through rocks and forests, and the proximity to the Château de Dampierre make it a popular weekend getaway destination, just an hour from Paris.
The flea market is traditionally held on a Sunday in April, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Philippe Rocher gardens. Admission is free for visitors. Free parking in the village.
The 2026 Cernay-la-Ville parents' association flea market was held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in the Philippe Rocher gardens from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A friendly and charitable event in the heart of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Natural Park, with private exhibitors and refreshments organized by school volunteers.
