The Crécy-en-Ponthieu flea market: bargain hunting on a high place of French history

Rare are the flea markets held in a commune as historically charged as Crécy-en-Ponthieu. On this Picard plateau, on August 26, 1346, Edward III of England won one of the most famous victories of the Hundred Years' War, marking the advent of the Welsh longbow and foreshadowing the end of medieval chivalry. Seven centuries later, Crécy has become a peaceful rural town of the Ponthieu once again, where the memory of the past coexists with the traditions of the present.

A flea market at the stadium

The organization of the rederie at the communal stadium offers an ideal setting: well-delimited aisles, vast space for the installation of exhibitors, easy parking for visitors. About fifty exhibitors gather each year.

Crécy-en-Ponthieu, town of the forest

Crécy-en-Ponthieu is a commune of 1,600 inhabitants located in the northwest of the Somme, about 20 km from Abbeville. It is bordered by the vast Crécy forest, one of the most beautiful beech forests in northern France.

The Crécy forest offers its shaded paths and panoramic viewpoint; the Boulonnais Horse House presents an emblematic Picardy breed; the Bay of Somme is reached in less than thirty minutes.
